¡Hi every one! today i’m going to show you how to crochet this beautiful character inspired by the movie frozen 1

SKILLS YOU NEED:

  • Magic ring, chains, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, increase, invisible decrease, front loop only, back loop only, slip stitch
  •  How to change yarn color
  • Basic sewing and embroidery skills
  • How to join parts

I made two options to make ANNA both with the same pattern, we only changed the materials and the hook number.

First option is with worsted weight yarn #4 with black or blue safety eyes

SIZE: 27 cm tall using similar yarn

MATERIALS:

  • Hook N°  4 mm
  • Worsted weight acrylic yarn #4
  • I used: El gato expres
  • Skin color  / 40g. approx.
  • Light Blue / 20g. approx.
  • Navy Blue/ 40g. approx.
  • White / 20g. approx.
  • Light Brown / 30g. approx.
  • Pink / 30g. approx.
  • Black / 30g. approx.
  • Gold / 15g. approx.
  • Leftovers of Sports Weight yarn in green, red, pink, red, white and black
  • 2 (12 mm) safety eyes
  • Yarn needle
  • Stitch marker
  • 1 Round Button
  • Thread and Needle
  • Scissors
  • Pins
  • Fiberfill or stuffing of choice

Second Option is with Sports weight yarn and with black or blue safety eyes

SIZE: 20 cm tall using similar yarn

MATERIALS:

  • Hook N°  3 mm
  • Sports Weight yarn
  • I used: Sinfonía
  • Skin color  / 20g. approx.
  • Light Blue / 5g. approx.
  • Navy Blue/ 15g. approx.
  • White / 10g. approx.
  • Light Brown / 15g. approx.
  • Pink / 20g. approx.
  • Black / 10g. approx.
  • Gold / 5g. approx.
  • Leftovers of Sports Weight yarn in green, red, pink, red, white and black
  • 2 (10 mm) safety eyes
  • Yarn needle
  • Stitch marker
  • 1 Round Button
  • Thread and Needle
  • Scissors
  • Pins
  • Fiberfill or stuffing of choice

ABBREVIATIONS:

  • R = Round
  • MR= magic ring
  • ch = chain
  • sc = single crochet
  • hdc = half double crochet
  • dc = double crochet
  • inc = increase (2 sc in one st)
  • dec = decrease (sc 2 together)
  • inv dec = invisible decrease
  • FLO = front loop only
  • BLO = back loop only
  • sts (s) = stitches (s)
  • sl st = slip stitch
  • rep = repeat
  • * * = repeat work between asterisks as indicated
  • ( ) = number of stitches you should have at the end of your round

NOTE:

  • Mark the beginning of each round with a stitch marker
  • Start stuffing as you go

PATTERN 

ARMS MAKE 2 SKIN COLOR YARN 

R1.- Start 6 sc in a magic ring (6)

R2.- inc in each stitch around (12)

R3-4.- 1  sc in each stitch around (12)

R5.- *inv dec, 2 sc* rep 3 times (9)

CHANGE TO LIGHT BLUE 

R6-12.- 1  sc in each stitch around (9)

R13.-  inv dec, 7 sc (8)

Stuff firmly.

R14.- fold the arm and make 3 sc, both sides together to close.

Fasten off and make another one.

LEGS MAKE 2 WITH BLACK YARN

R1.- Start 6 sc in a magic ring (6)

R2.- inc in each stitch around (12)

R3.- *1 sc, inc* rep 6 times (18)

R4.- *2 sc, inc* rep 6 times (24)

R5.- BLO  1  sc in each stitch around (24)

R6.- 8 sc, 4 inv dec, 8 sc (20)

R7.- 6 sc, 4 inv dec, 6 sc (16)

R8-11.- 1  sc in each stitch around (16)

CHANGE TO SKIN COLOR YARN

R12.-  BLO  1  sc in each stitch around (16)

R13-15.- 1  sc in each stitch around (16)

Stuff firmly, fasten off .

Make a second leg, DO NOT cut the yarn at the end.

BODY

CHANGE TO WITHE YARN 

Second leg make 6 sc and chain 3.  now join the legs,  count 3 sc of the first leg.  see picture # 3 , place your stitch marker in the first sc.

R16.-  Make 16 sc , 3 sc  over the chain taking only one strand , 16 sc , 3 sc  over the chain taking only one strand (38)

R17-18.- 1  sc in each stitch around (38)

R19.- * 17 sc, inv dec* rep 2 times (36)

R20-21.- 1  sc in each stitch around (36)

CHANGE TO NAVY BLUE YARN 

R22.-  1  sc in each stitch around (36) 

CHANGE TO GOLD YARN 

R23.- BLO  * 4 sc, dec * rep 6 times (30)

CHANGE TO BLACK YARN 

R24.- BLO 1  sc in each stitch around (30)

R25-26.- 1  sc in each stitch around (30)

R27.- * 3 sc, inv dec * rep 6 times (24)

R28.- With black yarn  make 13 sc, Change to light blue and make 1 sc,  Change to black and make 10 sc. (24)

R29.- With black make 6 sc, we place the arm to join the body through the 4 strands and we make 3 sc, 3 sc,  Change to light blue and make 3 sc, Change to black and make  3 sc, place the second arm through the 4 strands and make 3 sc, and finish the round with 3 sc (24)

R30.- With black yarn make * inv dec, 2 sc* rep 2 times, inv dec, 1 sc, Change to light blue and make 1 sc, inv dec, 2 sc, Change to black and make * inv dec, 2 sc* rep 2 times (18)

R31.- With black yarn make  7 sc, Change to light blue and make 6 sc, Change to black and make 5 sc. (18)

DRESS 

We are going to continue with Navy blue  yarn in the back side of round # 22

We start with chain 1 and a sc in the same stitch

1.-  1 sc in each chain, sl st in the first sc (36)

2.- * 2 sc, inc * rep 12 times (48)

3-15.- 1 sc in each stitch (48)

Fasten off.

Now we continue with gold yarn in the back side of round # 23

FLO:  12 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc, 1 hdc, 14 sc. sl st in the first sc.

fasten off.

  • With gold yarn color we embroider the details

  • With green and red yarn we embroider the flowers and the details of the dress
  • Make the flowers with 4 stitches apart
  • To form a flower just make 3 knots with red

WE CONTINUE WITH THE HEAD 

CHANGE TO COLOR SKIN 

R32.- BLO 1  sc in each stitch around (18)

R33.- * 2 sc, inc * rep 6 times (24)

R34.- * 3 sc, inc * rep 6 times (30)

R35.- * 4 sc, inc * rep 6 times (36)

R36.- * 5 sc, inc * rep 6 times (42)

R37.-* 6 sc, inc * rep 6 times (48)

R38-47 .- 1  sc in each stitch around (48)

¡Start stuffing as you go!

  • Place safety eyes between round 44 and 43. 5 stitches apart
  • Embroider nose between rounds 42 to 41
  • Embroider mouth in round 39
  • Embroider eyelashes, and eyebrows in round 46

  • With white yarn we embroider a part of the eye and with pink yarn we embroider the cheeks

R48.-* 6 sc, inv dec * rep 6 times (42)

R49.-* 5 sc, inv dec * rep 6 times (36)

R50.-* 4 sc, inv dec * rep 6 times (30)

R51.-* 3 sc, inv dec * rep 6 times (24)

R52.-* 2 sc, inv dec * rep 6 times (18)

Stuff firmly

R53.-* 1 sc, inv dec * rep 6 times (12)

R54.- * inv dec * rep 6 times (6)

Stuff firmly, fasten off.

EARS MAKE 2 COLOR SKIN YARN 

1.- 5 sc in a magic ring (5)

We close it in half to form an ear, we make 1 chain and cut leaving a long thread.

  • Sew ears between rounds 43 to 41
  • With 6 stitches apart between the eye and the ear.

HAIR LIGHT BROWN YARN

R1.- Start 6 sc in a magic ring (6)

R2.- inc in each stitch around (12)

R3.- inc in each stitch around (24)

R4.- * 3 sc, inc * rep 6 times (30)

Make 31 chains, start in the 2nd chain from the hook and make 15 sc,  14 dc and 1 hdc. skip 1 stitch and make a  sl st in the next st. Repeat the same steps until you have 3 strands of hair.

Make 20 chains, start in the 3rd chain from the hook and make 17 dc and 1 hdc. skip 1 stitch and make a sl st in the next st. Repeat the same steps until you have 6 strands of hair.

Make 31 chains, start in the 2nd chain from the hook and make 15 sc,  14 dc and 1 hdc. skip 1 stitch and make a  sl st in the next st. Repeat the same steps until you have 3 strands of hair.

Make 6 chains, start in the 2nd chain from the hook and make 5 sc, sl st in the next st. Repeat the same steps until you have 6 strands of hair. Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing.

  • Pin the top of  hair with the short hair in the front, sew the front hair in round 47 then sew the top of the hair .
  •  Pin the bottom row of hair equally, sew the bottom hair covering all spaces . 

 

  • With our yarn needle and light brown yarn  sew the edges of the hair

  • With the long strands of hair we make the braids on the sides and sew them with light brown yarn

CLOAK

PINK YARN 

NOTE
– Start row with ch 2
– Ch 2 does NOT  count as a dc. 

1.- Make 32 chains, start in the 3rd chain from the hook

2.-1 dc in each chain. ch 2 and turn. (30)

3-4.-  1 dc in each st. ch 2 and turn. (30)

5.- dec, 26 dc, dec. ch 2 and turn (28)

6.- 1 dc in each st. ch 2 and turn (28)

7.- dec, 24 dc, dec. ch 2 and turn (26)

8.- 1 dc in each st. ch 2 and turn (26)

9.- dec, 22 dc, dec. ch 2 and turn (24)

10.- dec, 20 dc, dec. ch 2 and turn (22)

11.- dec, 18 dc, dec. ch 2 and turn (20)

12.- 1 dc in each st. ch 2 and turn (20)

Single crochet all the way around and make 1 increase in every corner

13.- ch 2 , FLO dc increase en each st. ch 2 and turn (40)

14-15.- 1 dc in each st. ch 2 and turn (40)

Fasten off.

Buttonhole

Pink yarn 

1.- make 8 chains, sl st in the first chain and cut leaving a long strand for sewing.

Sew the buttonhole in round #12

Sew the botton in round #12
