SKILLS YOU NEED

SIZE: 27 cm tall using similar yarn

MATERIALS:

  • Hook N°  3, 4 and 4.5 mm
  • Worsted weight acrylic yarn #4
  • I used: El gato expres
  • Red #42-J/ 50g. approx.
  • Mango #04-H/ 35g. approx.
  • White #00-P / 35g. approx
  • Skin color #09/ 10g. approx.
  • Brown #10-j / 20g. approx.
  • Dark Turquoise  #94 -S / 10g. approx
  • Green # 143 / 40g. approx. Estambres del bosque nieve
  • Turquoise super fine yarn
  • Red super fine yarn
  • 2 (12mm) safety eyes
  • yarn needle
  • stitch marker
  • scissors
  • pins
  • Fiberfill or stuffing of choice

ABBREVIATIONS:

  • R = Round
  • MR= magic ring
  • ch = chain
  • sc = single crochet
  • hdc = half double crochet
  • dc = double crochet
  • inc = increase (2 sc in one st)
  • dec = decrease (sc 2 together)
  • inv dec = invisible decrease
  • FLO = front loop only
  • BLO = back loop only
  • sts (s) = stitches (s)
  • sl st = slip stitch
  • rep = repeat
  • * * = repeat work between asterisks as indicated
  • ( ) = number of stitches you should have at the end of your round

 

NOTE:

  • Mark the beginning of each round with a stitch marker
  • Start stuffing as you go

 

PATTERN 

ARMS MAKE 2 SKIN

COLOR YARN and 4 mm hook 

R1.- Start 6 sc in a magic ring (6)

R2.- inc in each stitch around (12)

R3-4.- 1  sc in each stitch around (12)

R5.- *inv dec, 2 sc* rep 3 times (9)

CHANGE TO DARK TURQUOISE 

R6.- 1  sc in each stitch around (9)

CHANGE TO RED YARN

R7.- BLO 1  sc in each stitch around (9)

R8-12.- 1  sc in each stitch around (9)

R13.-  inv dec, 7 sc (8)

Stuff firmly.

R14.- fold the arm and grabbing only the strands from inside make 3 sc, both sides together to close.

Fasten off and make another one.

LEGS MAKE 2 BROWN YARN AND 4 MM HOOK 

R1.- Start 6 sc in a magic ring (6)

R2.- inc in each stitch around (12)

R3.- *1 sc, inc* rep 6 times (18)

R4.- *2 sc, inc* rep 6 times (24)

R5.- BLO  1  sc in each stitch around (24)

R6.- 8 sc, 4 inv dec, 8 sc (20)

R7.- 6 sc, 4 inv dec, 6 sc (16)

R8.- 1  sc in each stitch around (16)

CHANGE TO RED YARN 

R9.-  BLO  1  sc in each stitch around (16)

R10-15.- 1  sc in each stitch around (16)

Stuff firmly, fasten off .

Make a second leg, DO NOT cut the yarn at the end.

BODY RED YARN 4 MM HOOK 

Second leg make 6 sc and chain 3.  now join the legs,  count 3 sc of the first leg.  see picture # 3 , place your stitch marker in the first sc.

 

 

R16.-  Make 16 sc , 3 sc  over the chain taking only one strand , 16 sc , 3 sc  over the chain taking only one strand (38)

 

R17-18.- 1  sc in each stitch around (38)

R19.- * 17 sc, inv dec* rep 2 times (36)

R20-21.- 1  sc in each stitch around (36)

CHANGE TO MANGO YARN 

R22.- 1  sc in each stitch around (36)

R23.- BLO  * 4 sc, dec * rep 6 times (30)

R24-26.- 1  sc in each stitch around (30)

R27.- * 3 sc, inv dec * rep 6 times (24)

R28.- With Mango  make 13 sc, Change to Dark Turquoise and make 1 sc,  Change to Mango and make 10 sc. (24)

R29.- With Mango make 6 sc, we place the arm to join the body through the 4 strands and we make 3 sc, Change to Dark Turquoise and make 3 sc, Change to Mango and make  3 sc, place the second arm through the 4 strands and make 3 sc, and finish the round with 3 sc (24)

 

R30.- With Mango make * inv dec, 2 sc* rep 2 times, inv dec, 1 sc, Change to Dark Turquoise and make 1 sc, inv dec, 2 sc, Change to Mango and make * inv dec, 2 sc* rep 2 times (18)

R31.- With Mango make  7 sc, Change to Dark Turquoise and make 6 sc, Change to Mango and make 5 sc. (18)

CHANGE TO WHITE YARN

R32.- BLO  1  sc in each stitch around (18)

¡Start stuffing as you go!

We are going to continue with Mango yarn in the back side of round # 23

FLO:  14 sc, 2 dc, 1 sc, 1 sl st, 1 sl st, 1 sc, 2 dc, 14 sc, sl st in the first sc.

fasten off.

  • With Mango yarn we embroider forming a vest.

HEAD, WHITE YARN 4 MM HOOK

R33.- * 2 sc, inc * rep 6 times (24)

R34.- * 3 sc, inc * rep 6 times (30)

R35.- * 4 sc, inc * rep 6 times (36)

R36.- * 5 sc, inc * rep 6 times (42)

R37.-* 6 sc, inc * rep 6 times (48)

R38-47 .- 1  sc in each stitch around (48)

R48.-* 6 sc, inv dec * rep 6 times (42)

R49.- * 5 sc, inv dec * rep 6 times (36)

¡Start stuffing as you go!

Place safety eyes between round 44 and 43. 5 stitches apart

  • With Turquoise super fine yarn embroider the eyes

  • With red super fine yarn embroider nose between rounds 42 to 41

MOUTH RED SUPER FINE YARN AND 3 MM HOOK 

1.- Make 19 chains, start in the 2nd chain from the hook and make 4 sl st, 1 sc, 1 hdc, 6 dc, 1 hdc, 1 sc, 4 sl st.  Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing.

Sew  mouth in round 40 to 37 with 11 stitches apart

With red super fine yarn embroider  eyebrows in round 47

R50.-* 4 sc, inv dec * rep 6 times (30)

R51.-* 3 sc, inv dec * rep 6 times (24)

R52.-* 2 sc, inv dec * rep 6 times (18)

Stuff firmly

R53.-* 1 sc, inv dec * rep 6 times (12)

R54.- * inv dec * rep 6 times (6)

Stuff firmly, fasten off.

EARS MAKE 2 WHITE COLOR YARN 4 MM HOOK 

1.- 5 sc in a magic ring (5)

We close it in half to form an ear, we make 1 chain and cut leaving a long thread.

  • Sew ears between rounds 43 to 41
  • With 5 stitches apart between the eye and the ear.

HAIR GREEN YARN 4 MM HOOK 

R1.- Start 6 sc in a magic ring (6)

R2.- inc in each stitch around (12)

R3.- *1 sc, inc* rep 6 times (18)

R4.- *2 sc, inc* rep 6 times (24)

R5.- *3 sc, inc* rep 6 times (30)

R6.- *4 sc, inc* rep 6 times (36)

R7.- *5 sc, inc* rep 6 times (42)

R8.- *6 sc, inc* rep 6 times (48)

R9-10.- 1  sc in each stitch around (48)

Make 15 chains, start in the 2nd chain from the hook and make 14 sc, skip 1 stitch and make a FLO sl st in the next st. Repeat the same steps until you have 9 strands of hair.

Make 19 chains, start in the 2nd chain from the hook and make 18 sc, sl st in FLO of the next stitch. Repeat the same steps until you have 3 strands of hair.

Make 29 chains, start in the 2nd chain from the hook and make 28 sc, sl st in FLO of the next stitch. Repeat the same steps until you have 8 strands of hair.

Make 19 chains, start in the 2nd chain from the hook and make 18 sc, sl st in FLO of the next stitch. Repeat the same steps until you have 3 strands of hair.

Make 15 chains, start in the 2nd chain from the hook and make 14 sc, skip 1 stitch and make a FLO sl st in the next st. Repeat the same steps until you have 8 strands of hair.

  • Pin the top of  hair between rounds 49 and 50 with the long hair in the front, then Pin the bottom row of hair equally, at the height of the ears,  covering all spaces .
  • With our yarn needle we sew the top and the bottom hair

  • Pin the hair from the top and sew them

COAT RED YARN 4.5 MM HOOK 

R1.- Make 31 chains, start in the 2nd chain from the hook

R 2-7.-  1 sc in each stitch. ch 1 and turn. (30)

R8.- * 4 sc, dec* rep 5 times. ch 1 and turn. (25)

R 9-11.-  1 sc in each stitch. ch 1 and turn. (25)

R12.- 3 sc. chain 4, skip 4 stitches, 11 sc, chain 4, skip 4 stitches, 3 sc.

R13.-  1 sc in each stitch. ch 1 and turn. (25)

R14.- BLO * 3 sc, dec* rep 5 times. ch 1 and turn. (20)

R15.- Make 3 sc in the first stitch, 18 sc, 3 sc in the same stitch, 12 sc, 3 sc in the same stitch, 28 sc, 3 sc in the same stitch, 12 sc, sl st in the first stitch. Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing.

  • Details 

We count 4 stitches from top to bottom without counting the 3 stitches in the corner, we hook red yarn in the 5th chain by taking only the strand in front make, ch 1 and 1 dc, 2 hdc, 2 sc.  Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing.

  • Sew the coat to the body
  • Sew the sleeves taking only  FLO strands.
